The successor to Club Nintendo is finally here, and it seems like a solid improvement! The way it works is you can get three different types Coins through completing Missions.

Miitomo (blue) Coins are from using Miitomo. These apparently work as platinum coins as well.
Mushroom (platinum) Coins are from using My Nintendo itself regularly.
Star (gold) Coins are from purchasing eShop games.

(oddly, Gold seems to be more valuable than Platinum, which is why I'm wondering they didn't just go with Silver or something. But I digress)

You can then use your coinage for some choice rewards. Here's the full current list:

WII U DIGITAL:
Pikmin 3 Add-On Content: Battle Enemies! Stages 7-10 (20 Gold Points)
Metroid Fusion (Wii U) (60 Gold Points)
Super Punch-Out!! (Wii U) (70 Gold Points)
Super Mario 64 (Wii U) (90 Gold Points)
New Super Mario Bros. U Add-On Content: New Super Luigi U (90 Gold Points)

3DS DIGITAL:
Flipnote Studio 3D (Free!)
My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (1000 Platinum points) (new game!)
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (3DS) (35 Gold Points)
WarioWare: Touched! (3DS) (1000 Platinum Points)

My Nintendo Theme 1: Mario (200 Platinum Points)
My Nintendo Theme 2: Donkey Kong (200 Platinum Points)

DIGITAL GAME DISCOUNTS:
15% discount on Super Mario 3D Land (450 Platinum Points)
15% discount on Animal Crossing: New Leaf (450 Platinum Points)
15% discount on The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (600 Platinum Points)
15% discount on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (750 Platinum Points)
15% discount on Yoshi's Woolly World (750 Platinum Points)

30% discount on Punch-Out!! (50 Gold Points)
30% discount on Ultimate NES Remix (70 Gold Points)
30% discount on The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (100 Gold Points)
30% discount on Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (100 Gold Points)
30% discount on Splatoon (140 Gold Points)

MIITOMO REWARDS:
Miitomo 1 game ticket (85 Platinum points)
Miitomo Mario Suit (250 Platinum points)
Miitomo 5 game tickets (420 Platinum points)
Miitomo 10 game tickets (250 Platinum points for one time only)

Lots of good stuff to offer, from discounts, VC games (including the first DS VC game on 3DS!), and even new software like Twilight Princess Picross!

I got 250 coins just from doing some basic stuff--signing into Miiverse and eShop (30 platinum apiece once a week), and linking my account to My Nintendo and Facebook. It's a solid starting point towards getting that sweet, sweet Picross game.

All in all, it seems like a good replacement. My only gripe--and it's kind of a biggie--is that it currently doesn't offer any reward for buying physical copies of games. Kinda stings.

Anyway, go nuts and get some Coins! What rewards do you have your eye on?

Please, someone add me! My Twitter is cooliocuneo (or @cooliocuneo that's how little I use Twitter)

I sent a most of you requests, but so far Ludist is the only person on my friends list, and it's a little creepy that my Mii is pretty much ALWAY thinking of Ludist haha!

Wow, went from one to 14 real fast. They finally started to suggest friends, and I was able to send friend requests straight from the game.

Miitomo is fucking amazing.

I wonder if this will have a prescence on NX or if they would consider leaving this on mobile.

Nintendo's seriously good at social stuff. The Wii's channels were awesome, Miiverse is awesome, Miitomo is awesome, Splat Events and such are awesome. Damn.

What's really cool is I feel this is some form of Nintendo community thing I asked for a looooooooong time ago. I wish there was a way to communicate with NW for example (yes, I am well aware we have the boards and am using them right now to type this), but through Nintendo somehow. I mean, this sort of feels like a friends list, through Nintendo's app. I dunno, I just think it's cool and well done. I mean, it's even its own game/social thing. Miitomo's awesome. I couldn't sing its praises any further.

Here's a question - could i redeem a 15% off Wind Waker coupon and then use that deal once Wind Waker becomes a Nintendo Select title (if it ever does in NA?).

I know that the OFFERS expire, but once you redeem coins for them, can you use them whenever?

@PogueSquadron

They expire then too.

This discount will be valid for four weeks from the time you get the reward.

*This reward is a discount in the form of a Just for You offer.
*The discount is applied to the price of the software on Nintendo eShop at the time of purchase, including any temporary sales or conditional discounts available.
*The discount can not be used in conjunction with a coupon or another Just for You offer.
*If you do not to use this Just for You offer when purchasing the applicable software, the discount will not be applied, and the offer will expire immediately.
*If you don't use the Just for You offer by the expiry date indicated in the reward description, the offer will be lost.

So you've got a month from when you pick it up to use it or you've wasted the coins.

You wanna see sexy? Sign up for Miitomo, bud. Mild mannered Koovaps is letting it ALL hang out!

Ehhh, wft happened in '13? Was that the year I got cocky and started wearing a cape? Everyone told me, "It's too much!" I honestly thought they meant it's too sexy, no one can compete.
Ah-well.

Also, what's your favourite type of bread?

@Super_Conzo

It's one thing if it's one notification, but when it's a slew of them all at once, seizure time happens and it spooks us all.

@Super_Conzo

It WAS the cape, yes. "They" felt it covered your masculine shoulders and strong Adam's Apple too much.

And I know ALL about Koovaps-- He was at the meetup in our home! You should see the rock sculpture I made of him.
Do you know how hard it is to accurately chisel flowing hair out of granite? Near impossible.

It's Friday. Why am I still seeing answers from Sunday and Monday from people? Why can't I just click a box that says "read all" so I don't have to read all the answers? I don't like this part of the app. I wish it was more chronological. I would give the app 3 out of 5 stars if I did that stuff. Coincidentally, that's the rating it has so far in the Google Play store.

I don't see this lasting much longer. It will have it's core user base, but I see a third of the roughly 3 million people who originally downloaded it sticking it out for the long haul.

Needs more games! Besides the 'drop' luck games.

Okay, I suppose it was a bit obvious from the virtual console 'upgrade trick,' but I'm now clear that the gold coins you acquire from purchases on the eshop correspond directly to the full retail price, not the price you actually pay. I just spent 12 bucks on Virtues Last Reward and got 30 coins for it. And that's why the upgrade price nets you the 10 coins, assuming the full price of the VC game, because otherwise, purchases under $5 get you squat. This may fundamentally change how I buy eshop games. That said, I'm still not terribly thrilled with this rewards program, for all the reasons mentioned earlier. For retail games, I'm a physical copy guy all the way, with few exceptions, and this system is entirely designed for digital purchases and digital rewards. Hopefully they'll keep the rewards stocked with various options such as DLC and VC games, because I just don't see myself utilizing it for full retail games. We shall see.

I'm just about over this one...fun little social experiment, but the legs are a bit meh. I've already recycled old questions more than I care to.

Every year during E3, Amazon.ca offers 30% off all physical preorders. I generally buy 90% of my year's worth of games at this time because you always have the option to cancel games before they are sent to you (or return them if you don't want them).
This digital-only stuff doesn't have prizes that come even close to the amount of money I save through the Amazon promotion. Booooo.

@carlosrox

No, what I mean is I'm getting asked the same questions. I've already re-answered at least five questions.

It's good for laughs, but I'm not as drawn to keep playing as I was before I guess.
