My Nintendo link

The successor to Club Nintendo is finally here, and it seems like a solid improvement! The way it works is you can get three different types Coins through completing Missions.

Miitomo (blue) Coins are from using Miitomo. These apparently work as platinum coins as well.
Mushroom (platinum) Coins are from using My Nintendo itself regularly.
Star (gold) Coins are from purchasing eShop games.

(oddly, Gold seems to be more valuable than Platinum, which is why I'm wondering they didn't just go with Silver or something. But I digress)

You can then use your coinage for some choice rewards. Here's the full current list:

WII U DIGITAL:
Pikmin 3 Add-On Content: Battle Enemies! Stages 7-10 (20 Gold Points)
Metroid Fusion (Wii U) (60 Gold Points)
Super Punch-Out!! (Wii U) (70 Gold Points)
Super Mario 64 (Wii U) (90 Gold Points)
New Super Mario Bros. U Add-On Content: New Super Luigi U (90 Gold Points)

3DS DIGITAL:
Flipnote Studio 3D (Free!)
My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (1000 Platinum points) (new game!)
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (3DS) (35 Gold Points)
WarioWare: Touched! (3DS) (1000 Platinum Points)

My Nintendo Theme 1: Mario (200 Platinum Points)
My Nintendo Theme 2: Donkey Kong (200 Platinum Points)

DIGITAL GAME DISCOUNTS:
15% discount on Super Mario 3D Land (450 Platinum Points)
15% discount on Animal Crossing: New Leaf (450 Platinum Points)
15% discount on The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (600 Platinum Points)
15% discount on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (750 Platinum Points)
15% discount on Yoshi's Woolly World (750 Platinum Points)

30% discount on Punch-Out!! (50 Gold Points)
30% discount on Ultimate NES Remix (70 Gold Points)
30% discount on The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (100 Gold Points)
30% discount on Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (100 Gold Points)
30% discount on Splatoon (140 Gold Points)

MIITOMO REWARDS:
Miitomo 1 game ticket (85 Platinum points)
Miitomo Mario Suit (250 Platinum points)
Miitomo 5 game tickets (420 Platinum points)
Miitomo 10 game tickets (250 Platinum points for one time only)

Lots of good stuff to offer, from discounts, VC games (including the first DS VC game on 3DS!), and even new software like Twilight Princess Picross!

I got 250 coins just from doing some basic stuff--signing into Miiverse and eShop (30 platinum apiece once a week), and linking my account to My Nintendo and Facebook. It's a solid starting point towards getting that sweet, sweet Picross game.

All in all, it seems like a good replacement. My only gripe--and it's kind of a biggie--is that it currently doesn't offer any reward for buying physical copies of games. Kinda stings.

Anyway, go nuts and get some Coins! What rewards do you have your eye on?

So it's basically in all of our interests to just 'heart' everything from each other in Miitomo so we can complete all of our missions, right? Is there really any reason not to?

@PogueSquadron

I guess the only reason not to would be to actually go back through your hearted posts and really keep the best/funny ones for future reference or something But getting the required daily hearts usually is easy enough. With some 80+ friends now, I barely even have to try. I just wake up in the morning and already have it haha.

Sorry guys, was not trying to April Fools you. I had clicked my Mii a bunch right before I clicked the brick block.
Anyhooo... just followed everyone on here via Twitter. My user name is the same as here, so you'll know it's me.

Should Amanda and I both be using MY My Nintendo ID or should she stay on her own? I didn't know if it would matter, or if she should use her Mii on my account so we can accrue more points (if that's possible).

Edit: I guess part of me is thinking...rather than having to do all this stuff to get a 15%-30% discount on something...can't Nintendo just put their games periodically on sale? I suppose you just have to look at it as - you should play Miitomo for fun and not think about the rewards, otherwise it's just a time waster to get a coupon that probably isn't worth the grinding.

I'm literally five coins away from buying a Mario costume for my Mii. I already bought WarioWare. I can't wait to see what more games come out for My Nintendo.

@PogueSquadron

Yeah, as it turns out I had the numbers wrong in the original post (I think those were the EU rewards)--I've updated them and all of the discounts are even worse than before! The value just doesn't seem very good. For instance, you'd have to spend 140 bucks digitally to save, what, 18 dollars on a digital copy of Splatoon? Eh.

How do you find out when your coins expire?

@sirmastersephiroth

Upper left corner > Menu > Points History.

then just be sure to use any points within 6 months or whatever it is.

So the in-game coins that you use to buy clothes and stuff in Miitomo... are those related to My Nintendo at all or is this just a Miitomo thing?!

@Zero

There's, as Tbun said;

Miitomo (blue) Coins are from using Miitomo. These apparently work as platinum coins as well.
Mushroom (platinum) Coins are from using My Nintendo itself regularly.
Star (gold) Coins are from purchasing eShop games.

but then there are Miitomo Gold as well which is used for in-game clothing and items.

The way I figure, WITHOUT social media claptrap (read: No friends )

- I can get +5 coins each day for swapping my wardrobe around
- I can get +5 coins for answering a few questions
- I can get +30 coins for signing into My Nintendo each week
- I can get +30 cons for signing into E-shop each week
- I can get +30 coins for signing into Miiverse each week

That works out to be 160 coins a week. So I can burn the coins I have on a discount for Woolly World, and still save for Zelda Picross in less than a couple of months.

Not terrible. I guess.

And if I *really* need coins in a pinch, I always have the Social Media Garbage Bonuses up my sleeve to be used whenever.

@Shadowlink

Just join social media…

Did I miss why you won't make a twitter account just to befriend folks? You don't need to actively use Twitter and actually, you could delete it afterwards once you've added the friends you want.
