The successor to Club Nintendo is finally here, and it seems like a solid improvement! The way it works is you can get three different types Coins through completing Missions.

Miitomo (blue) Coins are from using Miitomo. These apparently work as platinum coins as well.
Mushroom (platinum) Coins are from using My Nintendo itself regularly.
Star (gold) Coins are from purchasing eShop games.

(oddly, Gold seems to be more valuable than Platinum, which is why I'm wondering they didn't just go with Silver or something. But I digress)

You can then use your coinage for some choice rewards. Here's the full current list:

WII U DIGITAL:
Pikmin 3 Add-On Content: Battle Enemies! Stages 7-10 (20 Gold Points)
Metroid Fusion (Wii U) (60 Gold Points)
Super Punch-Out!! (Wii U) (70 Gold Points)
Super Mario 64 (Wii U) (90 Gold Points)
New Super Mario Bros. U Add-On Content: New Super Luigi U (90 Gold Points)

3DS DIGITAL:
Flipnote Studio 3D (Free!)
My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (1000 Platinum points) (new game!)
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (3DS) (35 Gold Points)
WarioWare: Touched! (3DS) (1000 Platinum Points)

My Nintendo Theme 1: Mario (200 Platinum Points)
My Nintendo Theme 2: Donkey Kong (200 Platinum Points)

DIGITAL GAME DISCOUNTS:

15% discount on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (750 Platinum Points)
15% discount on Yoshi's Woolly World (750 Platinum Points)

30% discount on Punch-Out!! (50 Gold Points)
30% discount on Ultimate NES Remix (70 Gold Points)
30% discount on The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (100 Gold Points)
30% discount on Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (100 Gold Points)
30% discount on Splatoon (140 Gold Points)

MIITOMO REWARDS:
Miitomo 1 game ticket (85 Platinum points)
Miitomo Mario Suit (250 Platinum points)
Miitomo 5 game tickets (420 Platinum points)
Miitomo 10 game tickets (250 Platinum points for one time only)

Lots of good stuff to offer, from discounts, VC games (including the first DS VC game on 3DS!), and even new software like Twilight Princess Picross!

I got 250 coins just from doing some basic stuff--signing into Miiverse and eShop (30 platinum apiece once a week), and linking my account to My Nintendo and Facebook. It's a solid starting point towards getting that sweet, sweet Picross game.

All in all, it seems like a good replacement. My only gripe--and it's kind of a biggie--is that it currently doesn't offer any reward for buying physical copies of games. Kinda stings.

Anyway, go nuts and get some Coins! What rewards do you have your eye on?

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

@Koovaps

Just do what the rest of us seem to be doing... make a fake twitter solely for Nintendo and then add some of us. You don't have to actually use the Twitter. No reason to be alone!

I'm kind of digging this. It refreshing to have conversations in a social app rather than scrolling through stupid memes.

@Koovaps

Bummer. So I can't befriend you because we won't be physically in the same space for who knows how long.

Why do you hate Facebook and Twitter so much? Facebook I personally can understand but Twitter? What's wrong with it?

@TriforceBun

I want that Picross Zelda thing. Seems light in content but oh well.

@DrFinkelstein
Other way around for me. Facebook can be what you make of it, Twitter is much worse. Still, you could find ways to enjoy Twitter as well. And Facebook did what it first first (no Myspace was not the same and didn't reach people the same way).

Instagram though, I really don't get. And snapchat. Talk about superfluous.

One could prob say the same about Miitomo lol, but at least it definitely has its own identity.

@carlosrox

Instagram is great for artists and photographers... but most people just use it to take selfies and post words with pictures that they didn't come up with, of course. You can follow some pretty cool stuff on there and block out the BS with some effort though.

Snapchat I don't get at all. I had it for a few days because a woman I went on a couple dates with asked me to get it. When I realized she wouldn't ever be sending me pictures of her boobs on there, I uninstalled it.

Alright so I may not have the app, but you all can still add me on the social medias for when I do.
Facebook: Use this all the time
Twitter: Use this pretty frequently

@Pokefreak911

Yeah it's working now. It was NOT earlier this morning.

I think Nintendo Oz forgot to throw the switch.

@Shadowlink
Well it's not like Nintendo of Australia is known for doing things

@DrFinkelstein

Twitter is a platform where dumb people think that sharing pictures of their lunch with the world is important.

No thanks.

@Mr_Mustache

Except Twitter is what you make of it. You follow who you want to. Yes, some use it for that but it's a great communication tool by customizing it to your liking too!

Twitter has been one of my most valuable tools for professional contacts, promoting my game, and finding really talented people. Twitter is only full of lunch pictures if you follow morons.

Anytime I deem someone worthy of conversing with, I'm going to want more than 140 characters with which to do it.

Even ignoring the pointless, the inane, and the lunatic political types that infest the platform, I see little value.

Would I be able to have my wife contribute coins to my Nintendo account, or must she have her own account for Miitomo?

@Shadowlink

You can always to private messages where there's an unlimited amount of characters.

@VofEscaflowne

I've got Skype for that.

@Shadowlink
Yeah but Skype is an unreliable piece of junk...most of the time

@Shadowlink

So why are you posting here if you have Skype?

@Pokefreak911

Does what I want it to do *shrugs*

Although I do miss the custom fonts from the Windows Live Messenger days.

@VofEscaflowne

Because this isn't a 'real time' conversation

(Well it is when we're all posting at the same time, but you know what I mean.)

Even if I never touched it again, I already feel like I've gotten enough out of Miitomo to say that it was alright with me...

I don't understand the game. How do you earn coins? I'm trying to accessorize, here.
