Why not sign up for a (free) account?

If anyone commits the sin of not downloading Treasure's awesome SHMUP games, they deserve punishment.

Whoa, both S&P games! I have the original on the Wii VC, but I think I'll upgrade it to Wii U because playing that game with the Gamepad seems like it'll be a lot more comfortable than the GCN controller I used on Wii.

And of course I strongly recommend Star Successor. That's a phenomenal game.

Also, Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails for 50% off is a good deal. I quite liked that game. It's probably my favorite eShop game on Wii U so far.

I didn't think much of Sin & Punishment, but its Wii sequel (also available!) is very good. Try it out!

Probably going to download both S&P games (even though I own Star Successor on disc, I'm liking clearing up my shelves) and Disney Infinity. I would get Runbow, but I probably won't have many people to play with locally...

@GameDadGrant

And Sin?

Whoa! I just took a crash course on both Sin and Punishment games.

If you don't have them, get them! They are excellent titles indeed, particularly Star Successor.
Be sure to play both then go for the True Ending in Star Successor.

Good stuff!!

Apparently Binding of Isaac on 3DS has a new patch today. Maybe it's time to take the plunge.

Tempted to grab the N64 S&P. The Wii game is incredible, a thrill ride from start to finish.

I think Run Bo will be going in my "to buy" pile.

I'm really glad to see Nintendo putting Wii titles up for digital download. This bodes well for the future.

Man what an awesome Splatfest for NA.

The only thing that could make that better would be playing to the '86 movie soundtrack.

AUTOBOTS, ROCK OUT.

To be honest I was a little underwhelmed by the Runbow demo, but then again it seems like the kind of game you really need a bunch of people together to fully enjoy. Probably buy it anyway.

Both Sin & Punishment games are awesome. The Wii one is definitely the better one, and it doesn't have the huge control barrier to get over like the N64, but I'd recommend both. But if the N64 one turns you off I'd still recommend the Wii one, it's way easier to control and has a more smoother Star Fox meets SHMUP-type feel to it. I mean the first has that too but it isn't quite as slick.

I can't remember if I knew that Vs. ExciteBike existed. That could be interesting.

@Mop it up

I can't remember if I knew that already either! I think most of us are familiar with Vs. Super Mario Bros., but the Excitebike version is more obscure. I assume it was an arcade version?

Cool, maybe I'll upgrade my VC copy of S&P and actually play it this time.

Ah, who am I kidding?

I'll still upgrade it, though.

Pumped for Vs. Excitebike. I think it was a Famicom Disk System game.

There was also a Satellaview Excitebike version with Mario characters and an SNES overhaul, I believe. Nintendo should really unearth some of those old, obscure treasures, like Arm Wrestling or the arcade versions of Punch Out!. They could break M2 out of Sega's dungeon and have them work on the rereleases.

I like that the Wii U's N64 VC lets you remap buttons. Sin & Punishment definitely feels better when using the right stick to aim and the D-pad to move left and right. I forgot how slow the cursor is, though, I played through the training part and couldn't hit nearly as much stuff as I wanted. Spoiled by the sequel's IR aiming, I guess!

@nate38
Don't all Wii U VC services allow button binds?

Posted by

@carlosrox I meant in comparison to the original Wii's VC, which didn't allow button remapping for any system.

Man, what's Treasure been up to lately, anyway? I know they've done some ports of Guardian Heroes and Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun on XBLA and stuff, but have they made anything original since Star Successor? Really haven't heard anything about them in a few years, I think.
