I don't need to buy all these games yet again. But I probably will. I should at least have the discipline to wait for a Steam sale...

Yeah, no Wii U version is questionable...I get all six of those games are on the VC already, but for double the price of the collection. I own all six digitally and I'd still buy this. EDIT: It's being ported by Other Ocean. For those that don't know, they horribly botched the Ultra Street Fighter IV port initially...so now I'm not as upset.

Where the heck is the Dragon Warrior / Quest collection? I'd much rather have THAT. (Remember, dudes, we had Anniversary Collection and the X Collection on the Wii!...--wait, haha, it was GAMECUBE? WOW, that was a while ago...)

ludist210 said:I get all six of those games are on the VC already. Yeah... that's probably their reasoning. Honestly the art gallery is the thing that looks cool, but I wonder if it's a ton of rad stuff of just a couple things. @Mr_MustacheOn 3DS, Japan only, Reggie no like DQ.

@deathly_hallowsI thought that at first too, but all six NES games are on the 3DS too. That can't be it.

@ludist210I guess it's just install base then. Colin from Kinda Funny was saying that the Wii U is selling worse than either the GCN or the Dreamcast, not sure if that's true or not, but I guess if a company is only looking at pure numbers and that's how they make their decisions then Wii U isn't worth it. Same with Vita apparently because no Vita version either. Anyway, I don't have these on 3DS so I'll probably get this collection, if the "museum" seems worth it, and if it supports 3-D that would be even better.

This is cool, but I just beat all these games earlier this year on the Gamecube Mega Man collection. It's nice that Capcom's doing something with Mega Man, but rereleasing NES Mega Man titles isnt a big deal for them. They've done it consistently for the past decade or so with the GC/PS2/Xbox, Wii, 3DS, and Wii U. Hopefully this reaches a wide enough market with the non-Nintendo systems to convince Capcom that the face of their company is worthy of new games.

At least Capcom is basically acknowledging that the only way they are going to put out quality games anymore is via re-releases and remasters.

So... the Mega Man Anniversary Collection but with less games? Uh, ok Capcom. And not coming to the Wii U? Pass.

"Faithfully recreated?" I'm not sure I can trust even Capcom with Mega Man games. Anniversary Collection and X Collection had some major issues. The only time Mega Man games have really been well represented upon return was on Nintendo's own Virtual Console service.

Meh. Capcom just keeps on trying to live off what once was, and it's starting to get depressing. Personally I'll keep hunting down NES cartridges thank you very much.

The only thing enticing about this is the museum stuff. Which, I presume, will be available to view and/or download from some website shortly after the release of the game.

I'm interested in seeing what Challenge Mode entails. I remember liking the Challenges in Mega Man 10.

Surprised to see a new (well, kinda?) Mega Man game. I was excited for a moment until I found out 1) No Wii U version. BOOOOO!! 2) MM1-6 only, which is smaller than the GCN's Anniversary Collection. 3) Seemingly scant additional content. Was kinda hoping "With HD flair" meant an updated look for the games. Or at least Mega Man Powered Up style playable bosses and stage creation. As it is, I'll pass. Lame of Capcom to give Nintendo the shaft AGAIN. Something's off about the new Mega Man art.

@TriforceBunTo be fair, they are not giving Nintendo the shaft. It's coming out on 3DS. That's Nintendo hardware. Also, Capcom has offered these games to Nintendo gamers multiple times - this is the first time since the PS2 era that these games have been available to PS/XB gamers. Still, so weird to only include the NES games. I know both 7 and 8 aren't exactly universally praised, but come on now. It's even kind of strange that 9 and 10 are both excluded. They could have at least included those and called this an "8-bit only" collection, or something. Pfft, come to think of it? Capcom will probably offer those 4 games later as DLC.

This is why we need IP reform. How long can these companies keep milking the same 20 year old stuff?

Gotta be honest, the only Mega Man that I ever thoroughly enjoyed was MM2. And that was over 25 years ago on NES. I guess it was just one of those, 'one and done' deals where I feel like I got everything I needed out the franchise with that one game way back in the day. Haven't looked back since. Happy for those who get to enjoy it on modern platforms though.

If this were the Game Boy games, I'd be interested, as those have been re-released only once so far, and the originals are tough to find.

@GameDadGrantI guess. It feels arbitrary to release it on two of the three major home consoles though. Especially considering where ol' Mega Man got his start. I'm worried your DLC guess is correct. I think I'll pass on these and continue playing Mega Man on VC and the Anniversary Collection (janky controls and all).
