After throwing items at each other, racing through the weeks, we finally have our results... we now know the definitive Negative World order for the Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 levels. Did it surprise you?
1st Place: Bell Cup - Ribbon Road
2nd Place: Crossing Cup - Wild Woods
3rd Place: Bell Cup - Big Blue
4th Place: Crossing Cup - Animal Crossing
5th Place: Bell Cup - Super Bell Subway
6th Place: Bell Cup - Neo Bowser City
7th Place: Crossing Cup - Cheese Land
8th Place: Crossing Cup - Baby Park
It was easy to see pretty early on just how popular Ribbon Road was. It didn't even receive a single vote against it until Round 5. Then it only received one more final vote in the final round. Despite how solid of a new track Wild Woods is, it simply didn't have the fantastic presentation that Ribbon Road's GBA remake did. Perhaps the fake it was such a well done remake was what sealed its fate. Regardless, it won and for good reason. Wild Woods came in second but it too has so much going for it. The setting is quite fantastic and really takes Mario Kart to a new level in my opinion. With all the tracks in these DLC packs, I really get the feeling that Mario Kart is evolving aesthetically. Perhaps it's the freedom of the gravity portions of tracks that takes the series to new heights.
After Thoughts: Was it your favorite of the bunch? If not, which is your favorite of the bunch? Do you want to see this kind of poll for the first DLC track pack?
The only change I think I'd make is flopping 6 and 7. I liked Cheese Land better than others did here. Ribbon Road is definitely my favorite of the bunch from an overall perspective though Animal Crossing is my favorite aesthetically.
Ribbon Road is my favorite of the new courses by a slim margin. Super Bell Subway is my second favorite, and Wild Woods crosses the finish line in third place.
