Farewell, yet another classic developer from my childhood

Konami will soon only be making games for mobile platforms. Your thoughts?

They should sell the rights to Castlevania to Iga for 1 penny.

I hope Konami does sell off the IP... Maybe they could work it out with the buyer to keep the licensing rights for their stupid pachinko machines. Everybody wins.

That would be cool.

I feel like Konami is holding two of my all-time favorite franchises hostage. Metal Gear and Castlevania.

Y'know, there are times when you never see it coming...

But then there are times like these.

@Hinph
This is my biggest concern. I don't really give a shit about whatever hermit crab moves into the lifeless husk of Konami. I just hope that their IPs/legacy games can be somehow sold or rescured.

But they probably won't be. Bleah.

I doubt they will actually get rid of any of their IPs because they will want to bank on them in their phone games. And probably pachinko machines or whatever else they do. But maybe they will license them out for the type of publishing / development they will no longer do themselves.

Yeah I honestly wouldn't mind if Konami licensed out their legacy IPs to a third party to make games for them. I don't know if the stars can align again so that WayForward can work on another Contra game, but I'd be all for it if they did. I actually wouldn't mind seeing them develop a Castlevania game, too.

Daydream stuff, though. I'm expecting some Suikoden puzzle game for iOS in the future, and/or Silent Hill-themed Pachinko machines.
