Don’t Starve: Giant Edition, Never Alone, and Octodad: Dadliest Catch coming to the Wii U

I've said it a million times, "AAA" 3rd parties may be ignoring the Wii U but indies are not, and the eShop is booming. A trio of new announcements took place at GDC. While it is true that these are all ports of games that have already released on other platforms, it's certainly nice to see them hitting the Wii U

Don't Starve: Giant Edition is the Wii U version of a popular survival game with rogue-like elements.


Never Alone is a game crafted by both developers and Alaskan natives, where you play as a young girl and a fox and solve puzzles together.


Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a wacky game where you play as an octopus dad in an otherwise "normal" family and must accomplish various tasks while fighting the physics (in a good way.)


Don't Starve will be hitting the Wii U eShop this spring, while the other two arrive in summer.

Are you interested? Anyone planning on purchasing any of these games on the Wii U?

Octodad seems stupid in all the right ways and Never Alone has some really sweet atmosphere going for it judging by what I've seen, but I think I'll need to see more of their respective gameplay to know if I'd want to get them or not. I think my mind might be a bit clouded by my ever growing hype for Runbow right now too.

EDIT: After watching some footage of Octodad, I'm definitely on board. Well, provided the price is right.

Saw demo on PS4 at Best Buy for Never Alone. That'd be a maybe for Wii U but I've got much less time and money for games these days unless they're must buys :(

Little interest in the other two.

I have had two of these game son Steam for quite some time now. They're both great additions to the Wii U library.
That said, this is the first time I've heard of Never Alone, and it looks splendid.

@Mop it up @r_hjort Wasn't the online multi for that game sort of a separate game? It had its own name, anyway. "Don't Starve Together". Albeit it would be nice to get that part too.

Ah, you're right! It was apparently an expansion of the original game. Too bad we don't get that included with the Reign of Giants expansion, but hey, we are getting an expansion, so I shouldn't complain. Maybe, maybe, maybe (I seeeeeriously doubt it) we could get the Together expansion if the Giant Edition sells well.
