Nintendo has announced they will be streaming the new Super Smash Bros. for 3DS for eight hours on Twitch this Friday, September 12 starting at 1:00 p.m. eastern/10:00 a.m. pacific. Bookmark their Twitch page ASAP because that's where they're streaming it (I'm unsure if it's going to be on their YouTube channel as well). More details as they become available...
HEADS-UP: To those avoiding Smash Bros. leak spoilers, don't look at the comments section of Nintendo's twitch tv vids. Many people are discussing the final SSB roster.
Please reveal the final leaked characters along with the promise that extra characters will be on the Wii U disc and as a Free DLC download for 3DS. That's how you do this shit.
EDIT: Woops, Kotaku is backtracking on the Wii U release date being revealed this Friday. UPDATE: A Nintendo rep contacted Kotaku to say that their people at the presentation only promised general Smash info during Friday's livestream. While there's a possible miscommunication here, we're following up with our tipster and would advise any Smash fans to lower your expectations until we know more. Apologies for getting anyone's hopes up erroneously if we indeed got this wrong.
As for the biggest remaining 2014 Nintendo mystery, the company still isn't saying when Smash Bros. for Wii U will be out. During the presentation, a Nintendo rep said the date would be revealed this Friday during Nintendo's Smash Bros. streaming event.
I've seen a few rumblings that this is getting pushed to 2015 (Wii U version). I doubt it, but you never know with Nintendo.
I may have the stream going and just listen to the audio, depending on what is being shown. I'll be at work for the first half and then probably starting up a Mario Kart 8 "party" with some friends the second half.

I've feared this ever since the 3DS version was pushed to October. C'mon, Nintendo, make it this year...!
Unless it means squeezing in a few extra characters to the roster, perhaps?
If Smash isn't this year, though, I'm worried about what will carry the Wii U through this season. MK8's getting second life, and Hyrule Warriors has its fans, but is that enough?
That chat on the Twitch page is crazy. It's like the least functional, actually functioning chat ever. About a billion different people trying to have a conversation all at once.
