Friends! Gamers! Matthew Taranto, Negative World's very own TriforceBun, has unleashed upon the waking world a new Kickstarter campaign for his Brawl in the Family webcomic. As many of you know, his comic is ending soon with the final 600th comic to be released on October 3rd, the same day Super Smash Bros. releases for the 3DS. In light of this it seems he's felt it's now time to give the world a chance to own Volume 2 and 3 of this comic in book form! Volume 1 released in 2013 and there's still a chance to obtain that as well.

As of writing this the Kickstarter has only been live since yesterday... and already it's at $36,880 of it's $56,000 goal! That's over 65%! INSANITY! The thing jumped up about $20,000 grand while I was at work today! I wish I made $20,000 dollars today!!!! Of course the money isn't going into his gold-cartridge-lined pocket but instead it is being converted through the pagey-wagey hard and soft book-making machine of gloriousness and coming back out as Brawl in the Family on paper!

Having known Matthew for a while now through being a member of this site, and seeing his ambitions grow from his comic through to not only his own game but doing additional awesomeness on other games,... it's just all very inspiring and I'm more than happy to support his endeavors. Now's your chance too!

The books definitely aren't cheap but their quality will more than make up for any costs incurred. If you're not able to support the books themselves but you still want to own a piece of Nintendo and Nintendo-fandom history you can pledge $25 dollars to get PDFs of all the books! Whoa! I believe I'll be getting the PDFs for Volume 2 and 3 with my pledge for those hardcover books but I think I'm going to have to throw another five bucks on there so I can have the convenience of the Volume 1 PDF. To have the books as well as the convenience to have my nephews read a few comics without getting grimy chocolate-covered kid fingerprints all over them is worth the bonus value.

So enough ranting and enough reading (well not yet). Head over to the Kickstarter which can be found here or by clicking the header image and support this Kickstarter. Not to jinx it but it's looking good for hitting it's goal at this pace... but your contributions even after can support stretch goals to make this even better as well as the fact that you probably can never buy these volumes again after this. So don't delay, act today! The Nintendo gamer inside yourself will thank you.

Lastly, a big thanks to Matthew for being a great member of this community, for being a big creative talent, and for giving us fans a chance to have these projects for our own. Good luck!

P.S. Keep an ear out for Matthew to be on an upcoming episode of the Negative World Podcast where hopefully Ninsage and I can discuss this whole operation and his other projects at greater depth!

I haven't updated this in 10 days though I've been curious how this whole thing has been going.... happy to see what I see! I'm sure any other fans of Matthew's or plain ol' backers will be happy to see this.

Brawl in the Family: The Complete Collection

$190,457 dollars raised!
1,787 backers!

With Paypal, this means there's definitely less than $10,000 to go until Matthew hits the $200k mark and draws ALL upcoming Smash Characters in his books. That's a neat final bonus and I hope it's achieved!

He's hit 200,000!

@Hero_Of_Hyrule

Well hot damn. Figures Matthew would be the guy who hits every goal he wants well before the final day, thus making this the easiest Kickstarter ever, lol. He nabbed another 150 people supporting him in the last day. The final comic must have helped.

Congratulations TriforceBun!

Brawl in the Family: The Complete Collection

$205,712 dollars raised!
1,928 backers!

Even if you took away the four people who pledged the $1,000 tier for their own comic in the book... and took away paypal... he'd still have hit his goals. Nice.

So Bun, after you're done swimming in your Scrooge McDuck pool of coinage, what's next?

Happy to be a backer of the project.

@ludist210

A picture of that should have been the final stretch goal. :p

Congratulations Matthew on an INCREDIBLE Kickstarter campaign. Lets see... you funded your initial goal in two days... made a slew of stretch goals which hit with no problem... continued to grow past 2,700 backers... and made over a quarter-million dollars. In one-month you just made a quarter-million dollars. Yeah a lot of that has to go into making the books and all but regardless that's a hell of a fund you have there.

Well deserved. Thanks for the laughter and smiles with your comic and thanks for allowing us to keep them forever in hardcopy form.

*high five buddy*

@ploot

You can probably do a Paypal option!!! Talk to Matthew!

The way we were talking I thought you already backed but I'm sure he'll help you become a supporter. Just talk to him.

I also just realized I missed out on backing. Guess I need to look into this Paypal option as well.

@EagleC83

Hopefully Tbun will see this and answer our thoughts. I'm pretty sure there's no reason Pay Pal couldn't be used to help a few Negative Worlders out. He wants his comics in the hands of all those who want them, so I'm sure there's something that can be done.

And if not, well I'm apparently attempting to guilt him into it!

Hey guys! There's a PayPal option linked right below the vid on the KS page. And here it is!

It's got most of the tiers from the KS, and it'll be up all the way through the end of 2014, so there's still time to pledge...

In other news, wow. That was a heck of a run; I had no idea it would get that high, but I sure am excited now...!
