Then comes a brief discussion of Super Smash Bros. thoughts lead by Jon and finally the guys dish out tons of Mario Kart 8 talk, as per the recent treasure trove of released information. Specifics beware!
The interlude song is a timely treat of an old Mario Kart 64 favorite. Thanks to Zero for the theme music.

I thought I would turn out ridiculous in this. When the young-squeakiness is ignored, I don't sound bad at all! That was a good episode and the recording was fun. Funny thing is that the Smash Direct wasn't even announced at the time of the recording and now we have a TON of new and interesting meaty information to hype and speculate about. Good thing Mario Kart 8 was the bigger focus of the discussion!
Very happy to have you on! So much was learned indeed after we recorded but our HammerLord-lead discussion of Smash Bros. certainly has merit still! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts when the game releases!! Either version!
Good episode guys. I was amused that sage (though incorrectly calling me chris99) mentioned my personal town story for Animal Crossing. Though to be more detailed, my character is a serial killer who somehow got voted in as mayor who likes to wear masks and dresses while standing around wielding an ax. The fact that none of the animals are off-put by this and his futile attempts to murder them only make the madness increase.
Also when is the next recording? I'd love to be in on the next if I can. Been a year since the last time.
Thanks Chris. I'm pretty sure I've seen your town before as well and... it's something. At least the concept (if I've not actually been there). You still playing Animal Crossing these days?
As for the next show, we're recording soon but we're also aiming to record more consistently. How do you feel about Smash Bros? Wii U? 3DS? The next episode is Smash-Bros.-Centric and we're looking for someone who is rather excited/opinionated on the Wii U version especially. You fit the bill or would you rather be on the one after that?
Yes though instead of catching Mario in a net, he'd split his skull with an ax. And then carve the fresh kill into his skin. All while wearing the most fabulous of dresses.
Listened to this a while ago. Both Jon and Anand were fantastic guests. Joe and Stephen, solid as ever. I really need to comment when I remember the episode better. Though, to be fair, I couldn't this time.
First NW podcast I've listened to in many, many moons. Sooooo refreshing not to hear all the negativity that reaps its ugly head every week at RFN. No offense to Gui, he's the only one that remains positive. Jon Lindemann is not too neg, but the other two, I'm almost about to quit listening to RFN. I think Metts & esp. James Jones ought to think about hanging up the ole Nintendo podcast hats and let someone else who is really interested in & likes talking about Nintendo.
Anyways, everyone did a great job! Hats off to Anand, had me busting up laughing several times, from beginning to the end! I need more laughter in my life.
I need to go back & listen to all the other episodes I've missed.
Thanks gamewizard! I'm happy you enjoyed the show and that you enjoyed our general positive attitude. It's really hard to be negative about anything with Anand around too because he's always making us crack up and brings a unique sense to the podcast. Unfortunately I can't guarantee all episodes lately have been so full of hilarity but we try!
Definitely go back and catch up! Joe and I are trying hard to be more regular with the podcasts and we love seeing more comments, whether about us or about the topics.
Sooooo refreshing not to hear all the negativity that rears its ugly head every week at [other podcasts].
Mission accomplished! I think I speak for Fink when I say that we strive to always be honest, but that we see no problem with honestlyenjoying video games more than we find fault in them. I mean, if games are for entertainment (among other things of course), then there shouldn't be anything wrong if you ..... y'know....... enjoy them!!
A lot of folks in gaming media/journalism seem to think there is a direct correlation between faults found and personal standards or "cred" or whatever. I just try not to be that way and I think Fink does too. Just bein' ourselves and trying to provide food for thought in the process.
Great point about the positivity. Stephen and Joe are unbelievably great. I still put up with NWR, but James Jones alone may eventually put me off of it. And I used to love the Famicast, but the new crew, while really funny dudes, are often downright vicious about Nintendo. It sucks hard!
