Tough matchups this round. MKDS is easily my favorite Mario Kart, but I just can't vote it past Mega Man 2. And Galaxy 2 versus Brawl in the first round? Sucks that one of those has to go so early.

A1: I'm a big ol' fan of NintendoLand, but no game stands a chance against Super Metroid. Poor NL!
A2: Wind Waker by one of the widest margins in this whole contest. After PH, the last thing I wanted was more PH. At least Spirit Tracks had a pretty awesome soundtrack, for what it's worth.
A3: MM2 is one of the best Mega Man games, but MKDS is one of the best MKs. I think MK gets outdated quicker, while MM2 has always been fun (outside of Wily 4) though.
A4: EDIT: I've gone back on this one--voting Monster Hunter Tri now, I'm more intrigued to get into this than to replay another Iga-vania.

B1: Yikes, probably the closest match so far. I think both of these games are a couple of the finest from last gen, but I'll have to slightly give it to Galaxy 2. It's a 3D platformer I can see myself revisiting over and over again in the future, while I feel that Brawl will mostly be overshadowed by whatever SSB follows.
B2: I was never the biggest fan of Layton. The puzzles are fun, but the world and characters never drew me in like they did for everyone else. MK7 was an all-around strong Kart game with some great track choices.
B3: Pretty close, but Zelda sticks out more to me. It was more charming and more ambitious than the bite-sized fun of SM3DL.
B4: SMB2 is rated that highly? I don't think it stands much of a chance against Melee, which brought the Smash Bros series into full-fledged Nintendo celebration.

I'm actually surprised NintendoLand even qualified for these brackets. If 25 votes weren't "the thing," they'd have to be out, right?
Monster Hunter Tri is the only MH representation in this entire thing, so we'll have to see how this shakes out. Haven't looked at anyone elses votes yet so I'll either be pleasantly pleased or PO'd. What a great game.

Woo, Mega Man 2!

Haven't played Galaxy 2 yet, and the multiple vehicles in Mario Kart 7 kinda turn me off. Sadly, they'll be in place for Mario Kart 8, a game I'm looking very much forward to. And for this bracket, I'd very much like to see Super Mario Bros. 2 run this thing (for a MH vs. SMB2 final). We'll see though; Melee is no slouch.

1. Nintendo Land is okay, I like some of the games in it, but others were disappointing. There's nothing disappointing about Super Metroid, though.
2. Haven't played Spirit Tracks yet so Wind Waker wins by default.
3. Even if Mario Kart DS hasn't been surpassed, I'd probably still vote for MM2.
4. MHT has been outclassed and can't even go online anymore, so...

1Z. Easy choice, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is one of the best games around.
2Z. Just because.
3Z. I really like Skyward Sword and SM3DL not so much.
4Z. SSBMelee may still be my fave game of all time. I do really like SMB2 though. A shame it couldn't have gone up against some of these other choices.

A1. Sure Super Metroid is better. But it’s overrated and must be destroyed. Registering my protest vote early. Come at me.
A4. Wind Waker fo’sho. Both games have their flaws, but the flute in ST rendered it almost nigh-on unplayable. Fuck that thing.
A3. Mega man? Pfeh. Mario Kart gets this.
A2. Didn’t play Castlevania and barely played Tri. I’ll go with Castlevania though, because I KNOW I couldn’t get into Tri.

B1. Brawl. Galaxy is also overrated.
B4. Layton. Unique, fresh, and I got to use my brain.
B3. Skyward Sword. Some great shakeups of the Zelda formula.
B2. Smash Bros easy.

Some of these were pretty challenging. The 1/8s of both in fact. Wind Waker over Spirit Tracks EASY! I had to go with Skyward Sword over 3D Land... the art style and music has me won over.

Super Metroid over NintendoLand, no brainer.
Wind Waker isn't my favorite Zelda but I vastly prefer it to Spirit Tracks
Mega Man 2 is timeless. MKDS was fun but soon outdated.
Galaxy 2 over Brawl...guess I gotta go with Galaxy 2. Loved Brawl but its gameplay was disappointing after Melee.
Layton, obviously. Love MK7 but by default it just isn't as fun because it's not on a big screen. Layton is perfectly designed for a handheld. Like the best crossword/riddle book ever.
Skyward Sword over 3D Land. 3D Land was fun but not mind blowing. SS, despite its flaws, had me dropping my jaw several times.
Love Super Mario Bros. 2 but Melee...man, what a game.

I'd like to come out and say I support Jargon's original decision to simply name the regions after locations in popular games without tailoring the brackets around the titles.

...and I also support people ragging on Jargon about it, because that's still funny.

A1. C'mon, easy pickings here.
A2. Easy pick here too, even though Spirit Tracks improved upon Phantom Hourglass in every way.
A3. Another easy pick. Mega Man 2 is the pinnacle of the series, whereas DS has been surpassed in some aspects (bring back the missions in 8, Nintendo).
A4. I prefer Monster Hunter to Castlevania.

B1. Tough pick, but I ultimately prefer Melee to Brawl, and Galaxy 2 is a superior single-player experience.
B2. As much as I like Professor Layton, Mario Kart 7 was just more fun than the first (well, fourth technically) game in the series.
B3. Skyward Sword made it fun to waggle the Wii Remote. Good swordplay. Sorry 3D Land.
B4. Easy pickings here too.
