Happy New Year's Eve! It's been over a month since the last podcast despite we recorded this in early December. Between a very busy week immediately after recording and then the holidays, I apologize but I hope this episode finds you well. Today is the last day of 2013 and I made a promise to you and the myself that this would release before the year's end.

DrFinkelstein and Ninsage are joined by an old friend, Roykoopa64, the Koopa with the pink sunglasses.

The show starts and ends with a special tribute to the late Danny Wells so please stay tuned throughout! As for what's inside... you'll find the guys talk about Super Mario 3D World, Pokemon X&Y, as well as The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. After a shorter round of Box Art Trivia, they dive in to a lengthy discussion of the games they've played this past year.

A big thanks to Negative World's creator, Zero for the theme music. This episode showcases some great tracks from Super Mario 3D World in the interludes.

Please comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, hosts, etc. on Negative World! You can also reach us through Facebook or Twitter.

You can find an enhanced version of this podcast in m4a form at Negative World Podcast Enhanced or on iTunes.

A special thank you to Zero, Kriswright, RoyKoopa64, GameDadGrant, Koovaps, and Ploot for your contributions!

Nice job with the Super Mario Bros. Super Show music editing, @DrFinkelstein. Everyone did a good job contributing to this tribute. I have to re-listen and see if I can identify which parts were done by Zero, Kriswright, GameDadGrant, Koovaps, and Ploot! What a talented bunch.

Did you intend to mention somewhere on the podcast why the intro and outro were in there (as tribute to the late Danny Wells and of course, remembering Lou Albano)? Of course, you mention it in the description in the OP above, but I wonder if listeners who don't see this thread will know what it's about.

@roykoopa64

Actually no, it was intended to just be something random that was timed near the late Danny Wells' passing, but now that you mention it, I would love to talk about the series on the show. Perhaps on the next episode.

I loved that show and I think Danny and Lou did a great job on it considering what it was. Rest in Peace fellas. My kids will watch their show someday and their legacy will continue.

Zero's contribution is one of a musical one, while I also had my voice in there a small bit. I went uncredited because it felt weird to thank myself. lol

Show was great. Big shout out to Joe for the plug of SM3DW!

I am indeed very competitive, but not to the point of not finishing a level. I call it 'cooperative competitiveness'.

Co-op-comp. I dig it.

Very excellent episode! My 13 year old daughter was suitably horrified by my wonderful contribution to the show. And well done on putting those 2 songs together, Stephen! It was very cool. My only regret was not also doing the instrumental parts myself. A missed opportunity, to be sure. Oh well, next time.

Another episode, and another fine guest. Nicely done, Eric! I like that you spoke about some different games. I think I may have to give Most Wanted a chance. I'm not a fan of EA, but if I find it on the cheap, I'll definitely give it a chance. I do love me a good arcade racer. I'm only now just getting into 3D World, and holy crap, is it good! I agree with all comments on that game. Sadly, I haven't touched ALBW yet. I was kinda in the middle of LttP, so am deciding if I want to finish that first. Who knows?

I guess that's it for now. I did listen a few days ago, but haven't had a good chance to comment yet. I'm sure I'm forgetting other things I wanted to say. Oh yeah, I love Walmart!

@Koovaps

Thanks for the comments! I'm glad my discussion has prompted you to at least give NFS: Most Wanted a chance.

EDIT: A lot of us have no love for EA, that's true, but in this case, direct some love to the developer: Criterion Games. Like I said on the podcast, unlike other ports, Criterion has shown they really do care about the Wii U hardware enough to put effort into making a superior version compared to the original versions. It's one reason I supported the game.

Sadly, though, I was just looking at the wikipedia page for NFS: Most Wanted and apparently this was Criterion Games' last NFS game before Ghost Games took sole ownership of the franchise with the release of Rivals. That game didn't release on Wii U.

OK, wait a sec. On Sep. 13, 2013, Criterion elected to cut its staff numbers to 17 people total, as 80% (70 people) of the studio moved over to Ghost Games UK to work with Need for Speed games. So they've merged, in a sense.

Related to something that was on this podcast that I may have expanded upon a bit.

You should know what it is! We talked about it!
