November 7, 2013 - Enjoy an outing with friends this week. Wii Sports Club hits the Wii U with two sports: bowling and tennis. Play with friends all over the country and talk smack while you're beating them silly. Also enjoy the original Toki Tori on Wii U, and Wario's Woods on NES (also available on 3DS). On the 3DS side, there's a lot of content hitting the eShop this week, including Kid Icarus: Uprising. There's even a new DSiWare title on tap. Be sure to see all of this week's updates by visiting your favorite digital storefront at noon eastern.
eShop Games
Toki Tori - Two Tribes, $1.99 (sale price)
Wii Sports Club: Tennis and Bowling - Nintendo, free hub download, each sport costs $1.99 (24 hour trial) or $9.99 (lifetime pass)
I assume that means talk smack via Miiverse and not voice chat. I'll be downloading it over the weekend so my 24 free hours aren't used while I'm at work.
So do we get a month free of the Sports stuff or whatever? I vaguely recall hearing something like that.
Although I get that it is a more popular sport, it feels odd to me that they are going with Tennis when Resort's Table Tennis was such a huge step up. But I guess Nintendo is going to go with the older stuff so as to not leave out people who don't have MotionPlus, among other reasons.
Oh these are all Motion Plus games?! That's actually a bit odd, considering that Nintendo seems to want to make this game as accessible as possible.
I'm actually a bit confused about this game still. Like, when they get to Golf, will it just be the original courses, or all of the new ones too? It'd be a shame to just be the original ones only.
@Zero Judging by the screenshots and videos that were in the Iwata Asks for Wii Sports Club Tennis, it seems like they're adding new bells and whistles to all the games. Wouldn't be surprised to see the original and Resort courses both, and maybe some new ones.
But Iwata also said that if you have SpotPass downloads enabled, the game will automatically be downloaded and installed. I turned this feature off so I have no idea when this will happen.
Hah, I thought Kid Icarus would never make it to eShop due to the stand "requirement". Good of Nintendo to realize most of us can play it just fine without it (though, I like having the stand, it's useful for playing touch-screen heavy games at a table). This give me hope for Wii Party U on eShop, somehow.
Bowling has 100 pin Bowling which was a Resort only feature so I'm optimistic. Maybe it's taking longer to release because they're making new courses?
And only Wiimote Pluses have been available for years now, I think it's safe to require them at this point, especially since you only need one for some of the games and only need one for online in all of them.
