My game, Tadpole Treble, has a Kickstarter now! Approved for Wii U!

Hi, fellow NWers! I'm thrilled to announce to all of you today something big going down for me...from today's BitF post:

"So here’s what’s going on: I’m making a game, and I’ve been approved for the Wii U! The game is Tadpole Treble, a music/action adventure where the actual notes of the music are your obstacles. Many of you may have tried the demo we made last year; the game has been revamped to be much smoother! We’ve listened to your feedback and have rebuilt the engine from scratch so that everything flows and plays as intuitively as possible.

Because making a game is extremely pricey (even with me handling most of the art, music, and stage design myself), we’ve decided that Kickstarter is the best way to move forward with Tadpole Treble. We’d love to release a fully-featured eShop game by the end of next year, but we’ll need your help to do so! Those that have followed Brawl in the Family all these years know I’m extremely passionate about video games, and have incorporated music and art in a variety of media to convey this passion. So I hope it comes as no surprise to any BitFan that making a game for a Nintendo system is a huge dream of mine! And I’ve made this clear to Nintendo of America’s Dan Adelman, who approved us for this goal.

The basic game will be released on PC and Mac, but if we can get the funding to cover the licensing costs for developing for the eShop, it’ll have a simultaneous release on the Wii U. The game itself is a mere seven dollars in the Kickstarter, and if you like BitF at all, I’d highly recommend it! So please help us reach this dream, guys! Anything at all you can do–whether by pledging yourself, or by spreading the word–will be most appreciated.

Feel free to send me any questions or comments. I should be doing an AMA on Reddit very soon as well, and will post the link here when it’s up.

Thank you for the years of support."

So that's that! Fink's actually got a podcast coming up where I answer all sorts of BitF/TT questions as well, so thanks very much for featuring me, Fink. Anything at all that you guys can do to help support the game and/or spread the word would be totally appreciated. In case the above passage didn't make it clear enough, this is a long-standing dream of mine. Thanks again, NW!

Why not sign up for a (free) account and create your own content?
Sure, I'll throw some cash at you...

Actually, I just did. I pulled my pledge from Boogerman (because it wasn't looking like it was going to happen) and just gave that money back to you.

I look forward to checking out the kickstarter and the podcast will be out this week surely. I've been working a lot because of some major structural changes.

I have been able to try this game, and there's a lot of promise. Definitely spread the word.

Will pledge later today, just wanted to let you know there seems to be some text missing from the kickstarter page.

Above the Chiptune Lagoon sample, it reads: "Matthew, the composer, Take a listen:." I'm assuming that's an error. BUG REPORTED.

Oops, thanks for the heads-up.

That's awesome Matthew, congrats on making it to this point! This is one Kickstarter I won't hesitate to support.

Congrats on the Wii U approval! I'm a fan of BitF, and will support this game if it hits the Wii U, but I'm afraid I won't back the Kickstarter. Please don't hate me. Well, at least not for this. Other stuff is fine. I'll definitely mention this project to my rhythm/music game loving friends, though. Pushing the responsibility on someone else, that's my way of doing business!

Well, damn. Now I have to sign up for Kickstarter. Thanks a heap you inconsiderate T-Bun with your general brilliance and all that.

I'm definitely willing to help a brother out with his dream. I'm behind you all the way.

I am hyped for this game, that music was phenomenal. I love it! Will be backing this when I know I have enough. Tweeted about it too! Hope you succeed TriforceBun, you deserve it.

Woo! More supporters! I'm going to support it shortly.

And while I already tweeted about it, and despite not having too many followers, I plan to continue to tweet about it periodically. Probably should use different hash tags and stuff that people might search to try and expose it further.

Also Perfect!

Matt, how soon could people get those BitF books in some of those tiers? Will they have to wait till the end of December 2014 or when the game releases or could those go out sooner?

Edit: I've got about 18 minutes left of the podcast to tackle before it can go into Post phase. I'm busy right after work tomorrow... and friday, but I'm still hoping to get it out before Saturday so that everyone can hear Matthew talk about his kickstarter, his game, and his Brawl in the Family comic.

Most excellent!

The only thing that keeps me from putting money into the higher tiers is that shipping the book will cost me 25 extra dollars. I had this same problem with the Mighty #9 Kickstarter.

The $52 tier actually costs me $77.

I'll be backing this for sure. Just need to figure some stuff out.

I'll support it in a couple days. And, honestly, it doesn't even matter to me whether I like the game or not, I'll do it to support you! Great first day so far!

I like your spirit cubed.

I wonder if there'd be a way to work it out so that I could get the book for you before we meet at the end of the month or whenever to swap Zelda. That'd be convenient. You'd have to try and work that out with Matt though as the kickstarter wont end till probably after we meet and I'm not even sure when he'd send out those books. I was asking that above myself.

I've got the podcast edited. Now I just have to find time to make the enhanced version, finesse both, and upload.
