The guys go through the games they're playing which includes Pikmin 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Earthbound, and more. There's also a small discussion regarding the late Hiroshi Yamauchi, Nintendo's former President. The gang discusses what Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club means to them and finally dives into the interesting topic of whether or not changing a genre within a franchise can freshen things up. Do the guys think it's a good idea or a stinky one? Listen to find out. Plus, there's a couple unique game ideas that are a must-listen... /oversell?
As per usual, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner, Zero. The interlude music is from Super Smash Bros. Brawl but specifically the Earthbound tunes in honor of that being a game TheOldManFromZelda has been tackling!

Come on and talk Metroid and Castlevania, then we'll talk!
The title comes from the discussion about game franchises changing genres. We could go much deeper than we did too if we had more time and guests. It's a vast topic I think.
i have yet to play a pikmin game. I've heard the same... 1 and 2 were 'meh' by some people and great to others
The problem is that I really want to try Pikmin 3...without buying it and with video rental places going the way of the dodo, it's hard to tell if I'm going to enjoy this type of game.
Have you ever played games like this? RTS or Little King's Story?
I was turned off by the Pikmin series initially and I'm still not sold on if that was correct or not, but Pikmin 3, with it's focus on fruit collection, is quite a treat. It's challenging but not even close to brutally. Probably more on the easier side frankly but I mean that in the sense that you can lay back, explore and the real challenge comes from getting your own defined goal for the day done by the end of that day.
It's alright. It's not TOO bad. I did have to do a lot of finessing on this one though. It was not an easy edit. Next time we'll have to see how multiple headsets will work.
Another fine episode. And I've had the pleasure of meeting two thirds of the participants this episode! Hooray for me! All your work is still super appreciated out here. And the guests continue to be great. Keep it up!
Yeah, somehow the Skypery was rough, even with two of y'all in the same room. It sounded like the dude from Twin Peaks who talked in reverse was the surprise fourth guest.
Good stuff, though. Lou, I can't believe your 'stalk market' experience ruined Animal Crossing for you. You should appreciate it for being so real! That's exactly how disillusioning the real stock market is! Animal Crossing is trying to tell you a cautionary tale. It's scaring you straight.

It was only a test. It won't happen again. Lou's gonna get a headset before his next appearance.
I had to edit out a ton of feedback this episode. It was a rough experiment but I think the episode turned out just fine in the end. I'm looking forward to have Lou-with-Headset back.
You can do that on every 2nd Sunday of the month in fall months.
... oh crap.
But yea, it's all about the perfect fruit empire in my opinion. I think have 34 perfect cherry trees going. Don't forget, the key is selling them in people's towns who have native fruits different than the one you're selling.
