    Toki Tori 2 has also been upgraded to Toki Tori 2+ (expanded soundtrack, additional puzzles, new landmarks and themes). It's discounted at $8.99 until next week. It's a great game.

    Sweet! I loved Toki Tori on WiiWare, so I guess I'll have to support this now that it's so cheap!

    Thanks, I might check it out at that price.

    @r_hjort

    Shameless plug for my review...

    The game is probably a lot less obtuse now with these changes. Which most people will probably appreciate.

    @GameDadGrant
    I just wish it was Tecmo Super Bowl(although the use of Super Bowl is probably why it'll never happen) with the multiple seasons mode instead of the first game with only a handful of teams yet again.

    I downloaded Zelda II today, and... I realize this is oddly specific, but does Nintendo put some kind of smoothing filter on VC (or NES specifically) games? I was playing it and the bricks in the areas where you meet the wise men looked different from how I remembered, and after comparing them online they look less detailed or something.

    @Guillaume

    The update is also free for those who already own it. In case anyone was like me and thought this might be DLC or a whole other purchase.

    @rebonack
    Why is one so much damn darker?

    @rebonack Wow, those bricks look significantly different. I don't think that can be explained simply by having a certain filter on them. I do know that Zelda II in general is edited in newer releases to remove the flashing lights when Link dies, but I don't know about any changes to the actual in-game artwork.

    I think the VC games also tend to look different because they're not being displayed in 480p, but at 1080p or 720p, so there is some scaling going on. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Yeah, those bricks just look like completely different sprites. Interesting.

    @carlosrox Not sure why it looks so dark, it looks fine on my TV / GamePad. Maybe something to do with the way Miiverse does screenshots, I dunno.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they look significantly different, although I'm probably the only one who noticed without a side-by-side comparison... (Also not a fan of the aspect ratio stretching)

    I think VC games on the Wii tend to look darker in general. I seem to recall that Super Mario Bros. on VC looks significantly darker than the NES game.

    @nate38

    I'd like to see 5, 6, X2, and X3 on the Wii U myself as well as the GB games.

    @nate38

    Agreed! They can skip Mega Man II if they want though, just so we can get to the good stuff starting with the third game. And then move right along with the awesomeness of Mega Man IV and Mega Man V. Those games were amazing, and honestly better than their NES counterparts, IMHO.

    Wouldn't mind playing through the Mega Man Xtreme games, too. Though...those weren't quite as good as the "original" Gameboy Mega Man games.

    @rebonack Wow, yeah, it does look different. The 3DS version still looks like the NES game, so must be something to do with the Wii/U VC.

    @GameDadGrant This is likely done to help reduce the risk of burn-in on LCD and plasma TVs, as such large, solid-colour images like NES games have a little more of a chance of causing that problem.

    @GameDadGrant I can't compare them to the original Mega Man games on Game Boy, but Xtreme and Xtreme 2 I hope get rereleased as well. The first Xtreme is not all that amazing (the vast majority of it is a downscaled half-port of X and X2), but Xtreme 2 is a pretty awesome game in its own right.
