A Theatrhythm sequel has been announced for 3DS!

The news comes to us from NeoGAF, of all places: It's in next week's Jump. Brand new sequel. 200+ tracks, 60+ characters, new Versus Battle Mode, releasing in Japan in Spring 2014.

What do you think? I really like Theatrhythm--it's probably in my top 5 3DS games, and those numbers are super-enticing. By comparison, the first game had about 80 tracks, 29 characters, and 50 more DLC tracks.

I was kind of waiting for Theatrhythm Complete, instead.

Do you guys remember that unlocalized musical DS RPG from Squeenix? Not A musical, but musical. Or did I just imagine it?

If this is an expanded version with all the DLC, a director's cut if you will, then this is exactly what I've been waiting for. I'm glad I had the willpower not to buy the original when it was cheap on Amazon.

I might be mistaken, but I seem to remember reading a comment of his saying something to that effect, making me think that was a tad contradictory since I thought he was at his best during the 16-bit days.

@Jargon I was weary about the same when I bought it, but I didn't think the game had sold well enough for them to bother.

Well, I just saw it's not coming until Spring 2014 and that's just Japan. It's a pretty big sacrifice to wait and I can see going either way.
