I had to check the calendar to make sure this wasn't some sort of prank day.
This just reminds me of the desperate Nintendo of the GameCube years who slapped Mario (and to some extent Link too) into every game. This might not be a good sign.
@Mop it up I think things were far worse back in the mid 90's, when they let Mario do all sorts of edutainment crap, and I doubt that was done due to any form of desperation. Having Link in Soul Calibur 2 or Monster Hunter isn't anywhere near that sort of thing, as far as I'm concerned. If they can use familiar Nintendo characters or visual designs as a way to make certain third parties happier in an attempt at making their games sell better on Nintendo hardware, I don't think that's such a bad thing.
This series has been so abused that I really have no idea if this is the first 4 or not. And if so, is it actually a new game or is this the iPhone 5 of the series?
@GameDadGrant@Mop it up Yeah but this is a 3DS game, and they're doing just fine there. I'd say what is more likely is that now that Nintendo has been getting involved in this series more (didn't they publish Monster Hunter 3 in the West or something?) they want to help Capcom turn it into a premiere brand in the West much like it is in Japan. And love it or hate it, the easiest way for Nintendo to get Nintendo fans interested in something is throw Nintendo IP characters into it.
Ya, I noticed that it didn't really "look" like Link but I didn't want to say anything. Anyway, call me when the inevitable HD remake appears on Wii U.
Ya, I know that there is a circle pad pro option but I'm not interested. And by the way, I'm way over the 3D/gyroscope camera debate. If they actually figure out how to use the camera even if it means sacrificing 3D, I'll be able to live with that. Let's face it, 3D is just a gimmick anyway, and now Nintendo seems keen to want to sweep it under a rug more than anything.
