Nintendo's at it again to try and push eShop sales and this time, if you add $50-$99.99 to your account, you'll receive a promotional code by email for $5 in eShop credit. Add 100$ or more and you'll receive $10 back. This is great as major titles are finally starting to release on the Wii U starting with Pikmin 3 on August 4th.
There is something semi-ironic about you fighting so hard to get me to play a game of which I've already played a decent amount of when it first released, while simultaneously ignoring the entire eShop catalog yourself. And it's not like ignoring a handheld which may legitimately hurt your hands or whatever, you would be playing them the same exact way that you play retail games on Wii U.
That's what I figured. I didn't want people thinking they'd be getting $5 off a future purchase with this.
Very cool for people looking to get things on the eShop soon. Is there any way of knowing which retail games are hitting the eShop and which ones aren't?
I wonder if you can mix payment options to get the bonus. I have a $20 prepaid card that I can redeem, so could I use that, then add anther $30 using a credit card, to get the $5 bonus? Or does it have to be one single $50 transaction?
@Guillaume I guess for some reason I was confused by this, but after thinking about it, a purchase could put you over the edge to redeem a DDP coupon, and then you could stack that money with some of the money you've used in this promotion.
Do third parties ever say in advance which of their games will be hitting the eShop? I know that Amanda and I will get Disney Infinity, but I'm sure it wouldn't really work as an eShop release because you'd need the hardware that comes with it.
Eh not really interested. I wouldn't spend it, really, until several months off. I really like disc games, though MK8 and SSB will be digital so that they're always available.
Chasing Aurora doesn't..do it for me. Just browsed the Nintendo.com eShop games, and nothing else is really popping out either. I just don't dig those titles, what do you want me to do?
@Mr_Mustache I don't want you to do anything. I just think it's odd that you push so hard for people to believe in a great Wii U launch, but ignore like half the games that would make your argument stronger.
If those games that you think are part of a strong Wii U Launch, you should be spreading the word to receptive parties instead of being like "ho hum, at least I have a 3DS."
I CAN SEE WHEN YOU LOG ON TO YOUR WII U, BUSTER. You just very recently had an 8 day drought! Still on it?
Did anyone else get their codes yet? I added 2 50$ cards to my account but only got a code for 5$. I emailed Nintendo about it... will wait and see what they say about it.
