    OH! Wait! It's on the Wii U e-shop? That's a horse of a different color! I thought it was regular Wii.

    Dang, that makes a difference... now I might have to go support the darn thing. I never played it past the first 5 minutes, and that was when I was young and hated RPGs even more. Maybe time to see what all the fuss is about.

    Ten bucks? Way to milk the eager fans. Has any other SNES game been ten?

    I'm not personally sold on the game as is right now. I have a lot to play anyway. Ten bucks just looks wrong. Ah well. Glad its here for the fans' sake.

    @DrFinkelstein Theoretically the licensing reasons that made it so difficult to get over could have added to the costs or something. I don't know if that actually happened though.

    Either way, I'm in!

    @DrFinkelstein the only reason i dont mind paying $10 some day is because it is a rare game and i never played it.

    @DrFinkelstein

    I'll again raise the question: $10 for a digital copy, or $100+ for a Super Nintendo cartridge? I know licensing was supposedly an issue that kept the release held up in the past, so if that extra $2 helped get it digitally published, then that's fine by me.

    There are three games I need to download this week... Just, I can't be downloading them this week since I spent most of my petty gaming budget on the Steam sale.

    I own Earthbound, but I'll grab it soon.
    Shantae, I shall download you next week.
    Attack of the Friday Monsters, patience.

    Amazing Nintendo download day!

    Plus, for Earthbound, they ARE putting the guide online for free and optimized it for the GamePad.

    I could see licensing raising the price. I was just surprised. Plus if that guide thing is happening, that's a slick deal.

    Rated T for Teen? I haven't played EB in a really long time but that sounds a little excessive?

    One day I'll pick it up. I'd like to see it a little cheaper but mainly I just have too many other games to play.

    Why would you put The Smurfs first? Why???

    @Guillaume

    Thanks. That's an awesome bonus too! The EB guide is probably my favorite of all time.

    @Guillaume

    I WANT THAT GUY'S SHIRT!

    Also what a fun Direct! I love when they throw some campy stuff in there, like the AC opening. (And this was so much better than 100% Iwata. Love the guy, but all-Iwata makes for a lousy Direct.)

    @TriforceBun

    It's the order I use. Pretty much the order I've been using since the Wii U launch.

    Retail > eShop > VC > Demos > Apps

    If you read the header of the article, I specifically mention EarthBound first.

    Anyway, I bought EarthBound, and when I use my 3DS tonight, I'll buy Shantae.

    EDIT: In other 3DS Virtual Console news, the remaining Mega Man Game Boy games are coming and then some!

    If you haven't bought EarthBound yet, you are a bad person. You probably support drowning puppies and kittens.

    The price of Earthbound is strange. I hope there's more to it than simply gouging fans...
