Broken Rules (And Yet It Moves, Chasing Aurora) announces SECRETS OF RĘTIKON

I'd love to take credit for the existence of this game, as in my Chasing Aurora review I noted that I wouldn't mind seeing the engine return. And I've definitely posted before about how the Chasing Aurora engine would be great in a more action / adventure type game. However, I can't actually take any credit here, because apparently SECRETS OF RĘTIKON has been in development since before Chasing Aurora was even announced.

Some details:
-for "anyone who has ever dreamed of flying"
-in development since 2011, simultaneous with Chasing Aurora
-control a small light entity
-set in the alpine mountains, unlock the secrets of the world around you
-find remnants of an ancient civilization
-set your own pace, accessible to various skill levels and styles
-animals interact with the player and with each other
-some kind of combat system

It's still a bit vague as to what the goals of the player will be, but it seems like it will be a bit meatier of a single player experience than Chasing Aurora was.

Platforms have not yet been announced, but considering the simultaneous development I think that a Wii U release can be expected. Check out Broken Rules' development log for more details and images.

You made this thread just to break out your fancy 'ae' character, didn't you?

"Look at me! I'm Andrew! I know how to enter secret password codes to make fancy letters that you plebes don't even know about! Time for my orgy!"

A lonely orgy.

Anyhoo, I downloaded Chasing Aurora and I've never played it yet.

"-some kind of combat system"

Whoa, slow down there! You don't want to put TOO much thought into this.

@TheOldManFromZelda Pff, copied and pasted from their site bro.

@Deerock69 Ha ha, the "some kind of combat system" is kind of important to stress in this case though, because Chasing Aurora had no combat (well, not really COMBAT combat) and this is running off of that engine. Furthermore, the rest of the description sounds very peaceful and just kind of flying around interacting with things and such, so it might be easy to get the impression that that is the whole game. Knowing there is combat gives a bit of a sense of something more going on.

What though, tough to say.

I'm actually heading to Austria in a few weeks, maybe I can get some firsthand details...
