I guess I don't understand the point of having two versions at the same time if they can cross platform play over the internet. Also not understanding the no DLC part

Interesting...
If customizations aren't costumes...then what are they?
EDIT: If each character has a pool of unique moves and you have to pick which 5 you want mapped to your character, THAT would be pretty interesting...

@kgtennispro@Mop it upHow could Mega Man have ALL of those attacks at once? Doesn't each player usually have like..I dunno, 4 attacks?

@Mr_Mustache It's already been said that some of them were specials, others were aerial moves.

@Mr_MustacheNah, those are animations for aerials, all different directions of SMASH attacks, neutral attacks, specials... The characters in Smash have far more than four different attacks. @kgtennisproThis WOULD be interesting, though.

They did say that this time around a unique addition to the game would be that each character had a unique approach.... or some such phrasing. So maybe you can customize your character movesets? Who knows. But if they have confirmed no DLC then my excitement for the game just went even higher

what if the new smash bros had your move set on the tablet and we have more moves? Doesn't Injustice do something like that??

No DLC? Lame but doesn't really change how I feel about getting the game too much. More content after release would be great.
Also no cross-platform would be nice, but hard to get right. Of course though it was done on MH3U wasn't it? So they could have done it here.

I guess we shouldn't expect to see many third party fighters in the game, either. LinkDisappointing, but I understand that it must be a licensing nightmare. I'm still hoping that at least Sonic, Snake, and one or two others will be included in addition to Mega Man. I know it's a Nintendo fighter, but classic third party characters are a nice addition.

No cross-platform play? I thought that was one of the most interesting prospects of the whole multiplat thing, so that's disappointing.

I want customizable costumes, dang it! That would be awesome. Like the new Kirby-hat I just unlocked in Find Mii. I want to play Fox with a Luigi hat on.

With Megaman I'm wondering if you can change character modes to unlock a new set of moves. Let's say you do some combo to change into Crashman mode... you are then limited to Crashman's palette of powers but unable to access MegaMan or other boss powers. That limit could be for the remainder of the round or until you put in a new combo for a new character. Think mimic characters in other fighters.
If this were the case I can see it being an overpowered character for more hardcore players. It would be extremely tough to balance. Make him too weak and he's gimped for inexperience players... make him on the same plateau as other characters and he'll be exploited.

@plootSome people seem to forget that... like when I tell people (on here even) that Wolf plays very differently from Fox and all people can say is basically "look at his B moves and the Landmaster!" @Wellsy529That would be difficult considering not everyone can have the tablet available in local multiplayer...

I don't even necessarily want player customizable costumes. I just want different set versions of characters to mix everything up. So, say, you can choose to play as Skyward Sword Link or Ocarina of Time Link... Sonic or Super Sonic... Mario in various power-up suits... male AC Villager, female AC villager, or even Tom Nook.
It wouldn't affect the characters' movesets or animations or anything.

Not surprised by the lack of cross-platform play. I am hoping the stage editor does make a return though...that made for some fun local co-op matches.

So, I come to find that Smash won't support DLC... but Zelda is looking at the possibility? The world has gone crazy... or Nintendo is just staying the same.
Kind of a bummer, no new stages, costumes, etc.. bleh.
